Capacity Assessment of Grantees:
We have developed the first
scientifically valid tool in the U.S. to measure the functional
capacity of the organizations you fund. Often grantees submit
proposals, which look great. But is their infrastructure functional
enough to deliver and perform to deliver the programs they propose? If
weaknesses are identified this survey can provide a measure of their
improvement and act as support for continued or as the justification
for discontinuance.
This scientifically validated survey instrument measures
organizational strengths and weaknesses. It is based on the“best practices” of scientific literature relating to
organizational development/maintenance, over 20 years of“hands-on” experiences by the developers, and carefully
implemented reliability and validity testing.
The survey acts much like a “risk and resource assessment”
for prevention coalitions. Just as a community risk and resource
assessment provides important information for planning community
prevention efforts, this survey provides an important tool for
planning the continuing health and effectiveness of the grantees you
fund. The instrument measures organizational health along 10 areas
required for optimal group performance and sustainability.
